Environmental Planning and Consulting

Species Survey and Monitoring

For new residential and resort projects, Caribbean Botanical Designs is able to help determine whether there are endemic and/or threatened species of plants on your property before clearing is done and then help mitigate disturbances of these species during construction. A plan can also be made for preservation of certain species.

Nursery/Greenhouse Design and Construction

For large scale construction projects or for ongoing residential projects, we have found that the design and construction of an on-site nursery/greenhouse months beforehand is highly effective and desirous for the look of a finished garden. Plant cuttings can be propagated well before they are needed ensuring a larger finished size than if more recently planted.

Education

Caribbean Botanical Designs offers workshops and seminars on horticultural techniques to a variety of audiences such as garden clubs, plant societies and the grounds crew of a hotel or resort. Workshop topics can be tailored for a specific need and include flower gardening, xeriscaping, bonsai techniques and orchid identification. Agri-tourism is a form of tourism quickly gaining momentum in the Caribbean, Central and South America and can encompass farm visits, farm stays and volunteer vacations. Eco-tourism and agri-tourism sites, by their nature seek to have as little impact as possible on the environment, while allowing guests to get close to nature.
